How Katoo Got into Power I remember the year vividly the year 2003 like the palm of my hand. Geoffrey Mepukori Ole Parpai, the then incumbent Kajiado South Constituency MP, was sickly and was admitted to Nairobi Hospital. Katoo Ole Metito was only 30 years then and a student at the University of Nairobi (UoN) pursuing his BSc. in Micro-processor Technology and Instrumentation. On 5th August 2003, Geoffrey Mepukori Ole Parpai passed on after only 7 months in office. The Kenya Year Book describes him as a proven politician but an untested minister. It was devastating news for the whole of Kajiado and the Maasai community as a whole. Parpai was so much loved and was seen as the liberator for the Maasai people. His political skills plunged his extremely opinionated opponents into the murk. His constituents knew that freedom was indeed coming but he, unfortunately, passed on shortly after being sworn in. Katoo was a close aide to the late Geoffrey Parpai, an apprentice they say. He w...
Can you imagine there is a place you can go and get taught about God? You can actually go to school and get a certification of how much you know God and how you can teach His word. You can actually advance your knowledge from a mere certificate, to holding a bachelor’s degree, to a masters degree and actually reaching the epitome of a doctorate on how to run the affairs of God? It is sad that man thinks he can teach about God through research and dissertation. God has been reduced to some piece of knowledge and experiences written down and passed down by people who thought that they were able to decipher and imagine Him in their heads. After getting to school to read about God, you can actually get a job as a pastor. You may start by interning in some Church where you will learn how to handle God. Later, after gaining experience, you can search for jobs locally or online and if you meet the qualifications, you can actually get a job to lead a flock based on your papers and experience...
The worst thought that can go through a man’s mind is when they think that they do not need other men. You will hear most ‘Christians’ say, “I don’t need men, I only need God.” They would think of themselves as islands, fully sustainable by themselves because the world should be of two people, them and God. Heathens on the other hand will gather and ask, “What can we do? How do we dominate?” And slowly they take on the best of the land by trampling on the religious fellows who think that they are holier than thou and that God favors them simply because they fast and pray. During the time of Nimrod, God saw that the heathens had mastered a secret – the secret of coming together and doing things in harmony. While most religious fellows think that God separated them because they spoke of one dialect and that was the origin of different languages, the truth is that they had one agenda. Working collectively towards a common goal also means speaking in one language. God gave dominion to m...
