Introduction Most educated politicians in Kenya are laid back. They talk less about their achievements. Someone may ask, “Is education important for politicians?” Or “What education do politicians need?” Skeptics worldwide have also asked, “Does Kenya have good education?” Kenya ranks number 68 in both 2020 & 2021 in education rankings worldwide which is slightly lower than Seychelles, the country with the best education in Africa at 69.3. The quality of education is superb given that the adult literacy rate is about 80% and the regional average is about 61%. Devolution has greatly improved education in Kenya with the new Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) introduced in 2017 consisting of 2 years in Pre-primary, 6 years in primary, 3 years in junior secondary, 3 years in senior secondary, and 3 years in tertiary institutions.
